Happy New Year!!!
OMG, I can’t believe it’s a whole new year already. Funny thing is that it doesn’t feel any different than the old one. LOL. Ok, that was bad, but what the heck. I swear if I had to hear one more person tell me “see you next year” today, I was gonna smack someone. LOL. I hate that. It gets so old after awhile, and yet i hear it every bloody year.
I have to admit, my kid came up with an original one tonight. She came out and said, “Mom, I have a serious sleep deprevation problem. I haven’t slept since 2008.” At least it was different. Had to give her credit on that one. she’s kind of a smartass, don’t know where she gets it from. LOL
So, I’ve seen a lot of people posting their goals for the new year all over the net. My goal is to make through another year without hurting someone. Not really, I just don’t get all freaked out on setting goals. Especially ones that last for an entire year. I do have some goals in mind for this year, but I’ll just try and take them one day at a time. I’m revamping the format of The Prompt Writer. I just hope I can keep it up on a regular basis. I’ve seen so many people that post on their blogs each and every day, sometimes several times a day. There is nothing wrong with that, it’s just that I have a life outside my computer, so I don’t post as often as I should.
Plus, there’s the fact that I have 5 blogs that I maintain on a regular basis, so it’s hard to keep them all up to date all the time. On top of that, I write for several other people, and those are paying jobs, so they take presidence over everything else. Well, everything except my family. They always come first. 2 teenagers and a hubby of 18 years can really put a crunch on one’s blogging time. LOL But that’s ok, I wouldn’t trade any of them for the world.
Well, I’m off to bed. I’ve rung in the New Year, posted on most of my blogs, and managed to help a friend with some of his things. I think it’s been a rather productive evening. Besides, I can’t get any work done during the daylight if I don’t get to bed. and I have a lot of plans for the first day of this new year. Not that I’ll actually get anything done, but it sure sounded good. LOL
Night all and Happy New Year.
Is it over yet???
Honestly, I’m already sick of Christmas. Not the holiday itself, but all the crap that comes before the actual day. I still have so much to do that I don’t think I’ll ever get everything done. I know I will, but I’m really tired of the commericial part of the whole thing. The sad part is that I can’t even enjoy the next few days, as I still have a lot of shopping to do. However, I did have a really cool idea for my mom for Christmas. My dad passed away about 3-1/2 years ago, and I decided to give my mom something she and Daddy never had. I found all their wedding photos, which I’ve had since my dad died, and made my mom a real wedding album.
Some people called my dad a photographer, as he always had a camera in his hand. The truth of the matter is that he wasn’t so much a photographer as he was a camera sniper. He would literally lie in wait for someone to walk into his house, so he could snap their picture before they realized he had a camera. LOL. It’s what made his so cool. When he passed on, my mom handed me a huge plastic tote full of family photos. There was more than 25 years of memories scattered about in this thing, and she just couldn’t bring herself to go through it. So, I’ve spent the past 3 years trying to make sense of all the pictures in this box. Thing is that there are a lot of pictures of people I’ve never met. Ironically, neither had my mother. LOL.
So, I’m going to spend the next few days working on a few other photo albums for my mom and my sister. I’ve found pictures of her and her kids that I’d forgotten about, so I know she’s forgotten about them. Her children are all grown up now, and I’ve found a ton of pictures of them when they were little. So, I thought I’d make her an album filled with pictures of her kids, mom and dad, and a few tidbits that will surely make her cry. That’s my goal, to make them both cry before it’s all said and done with. LOL. Serves them right, they do it to me every year.
I know I’ll be ready when the time comes, but I really wish it was already here so I could actually enjoy it.
